2020 is next week? What? How? It seems like 2019 just started and now we're days away from entering a new decade. That's crazy! But you know what's even crazier? Here are 10 ways you can get organized before 2020 arrives.

Entering 2020 feeling completely disorganized and just plain out of control. We should all start 2020 in a positive, organized note, don't you think? Here are 10 ways you can get organized before 2020 arrives.

Braindump all the to-do's that have been lingering in your mind

Get a piece of paper and just write down everything (and I mean everything) that comes to your mind. It doesn't matter how small of a task it might be, just write it down. Let's say you have been meaning to replace the light-bulbs around your house but you just have been pushing it back: write it down and get it done. I know it might seem like such a simple thing to do, but trust me, you will enter 202 with much more at ease just by doing these things.

Get a planner/ bullet journal/ digital planning system

Get yourself an organization system that you love and know it works for you. I've been using a bullet journal since September and it has done wonders for my productivity. Your system should help you be more organized and productive, not set you back so pay attention to that.

Book all the appointments you need now

A few phone calls are all it takes to complete this task. Have you been meaning to cut your hair? Book a hairdresser appointment for the beginning of 2020. The same goes for doctor's appointments, meetings and things of that kind. You will feel a lot less stressed in January, trust me.

Jot down all the events/ appointments

Pertaining to the last two points, once you get your planning system set and your appointments are booked, jot them down so you don't forget them. Make sure to check the place you've jotted them down in regularly so you won't forget them.

List out your goals+ plans on how to achieve them

I know new year's resolutions have become some sort of cliche by now but I still think they are great. List out all your goals for 2020 in a piece of paper or a word document and then map out what steps you need to take to reach that goal. I would advise you not to choose too many goals though, as it can become quite overwhelming and you might just end up quitting all of them.

Clean out your closet

Start 2020 well by getting rid of the clothes you don't wear anymore or that are ruined. They are just occupying space in your closet right now so might as well give those in good condition to family members or charities and get rid of the ruined ones.

Create a list of books to read/movies & tv shows to watch/ podcasts to listen to

These types of lists will save a ton of time when it comes time to choose what book to read, movie and tv show to watch or podcast to listen to. Check them off as you go and add as many new entries as you please.

Plan your adventures

Wanna travel somewhere in 2020? This is the right time to start planning that out. Create a list of all the places you want to visit, restaurants you want to try, workshops you'd like to attend and start talking about them with someone you would like to accompany you.

Buy the things you have been meaning to buy

This is kind of related to the braindump step I mentioned before. Buy all the things you have been meaning to buy for a while but have been procrastinating on doing so. If your favorite foundation is nearing its end, just go buy another one instead of waiting for it to run out. That way you won't have to go God knows how many days without wearing it and going crazy over it.

Empty your inbox

To quote one of my favorite YouTubers MuchelleB '' emptying your inbox is the ultimate reset activity.'' I've reached a point in my life where I can't function if I have my email inbox filled with random emails. It might take a while, depending on how many emails you have on your inbox right now but it'll feel so good when you reach inbox zero. On the topic of emails, you should also unsubscribe newsletters that no longer resonate with you and add those which do to unroll.me so you can get all your newsletter emails together and they won't fill up your inbox.

What do you usually do to get ready for a new year?

I started to realize that there is only a handful of beauty-related products I use pretty much every time I leave the house, so I started only carrying those around with me. Those became my essentials. The things I can't leave the house without. Then I realized these are things all women should carry in their bags, so I decided to write this post down for you to refer to whenever you're about to leave the house and don't know what to take with you. #beauty #beautyessentials

Has anyone ever told you you carry too much stuff in your bag? And you reply by saying it's all necessary even though you know it's not but you don't want the other person to be right? That has happened to me before. It has happened to me quite a lot actually. I used to do this a lot, especially with beauty products. I was the kind of person that would bring my entire makeup routine in my bag wherever I went.

As time went by, though, I started to realize that there is only a handful of beauty-related products I use pretty much every time I leave the house, so I started only carrying those around with me. Those became my essentials. The things I can't leave the house without. Then I realized these are things all women should carry in their bags, so I decided to write this post down for you to refer to whenever you're about to leave the house and don't know what to take with you.

Lip Balm

Lip balm always comes in handy, no matter where you are. The feeling of chapped lips is probably one of the worst ever so if you can prevent that feeling my carrying a lip balm with you in your bag then you should definitely do it.

Hand Lotion

Another horrible feeling that can be easily solved by you carrying hand lotion with you. Dry hands are most common in the winter, but you should carry hand lotion with you all year-round.

Nail File

This item, along with the next on the list, is a must-have for me. You will never see me leave my house without a nail file in my bag. I have pretty week nails so they break very easily.
Something I hate with a passion is when my nail breaks and becomes all pointy, getting stuck in my hair, clothes and whatever else. That's why a nail file is a must from me.

Compact Powder

Oh, this one is a must for me. I have quite the oily skin, which means my makeup doesn't really like to stay on my face for long periods of time. Although things have gotten quite better (thanks to my Catrice foundation) these past few months, there are still times where I can literally feel my makeup sliding off my skin so having a compact translucent powder with me always comes in handy. I would also recommend you get yourself one of those small face brushes so you can apply the powder.

Small Mirror

Do I really need to explain why having a small mirror in your bag is useful? I do? Okay. Let's see. You can check out your makeup everywhere, your hair too, you can check to see if you have something stuck in your teeth before you meet your boss or just anyone for that matter. Oh and if those uses aren't good enough, you can use the mirror just to check yourself out.

Hair Brush

I usually carry this small grey comb around with me, especially when it's windy outside. Wind makes my (and everyone else's) hair all tangled so it's great to have something to brush through it and make it more presentable.

Hair Ties/ Hair Clips

Continuing the hair theme from above, having a hair tie or hair clips in your bag always comes in handy. I can't tell you the number of times my hair was getting in my way while I was at a uni lecture and I fixed it using a hair tie or clip. Carrying around just one hair tie won't hurt and I'm sure you'll thank yourself for putting it in your bag eventually.

Having a good coat to wear during winter is a must. Everyone wants to feel warm and cozy when out and about during winter, right? I think the worst thing ever is when you think you will go out and not feel cold and then, as soon as you step foot out of your house, you feel your bones freeze. Gosh just thinking about it gives me chills.

Bright colors are actually trending this A/W: pastel yellow, mind, and especially lilac/purple are a few of the ''it'' colors of this cold season. Every store has at least one of these colors in their a/w 2019 collections. Here are a few ways you can incorporate color into your winter wardrobe.

When we think about winter clothing we think of the same three or four colors: black, grey, brown, and maybe navy and dark green.  It's embedded in us to associate dark colors with cold weather and light colors with warmer weather. In the past few years, however, we've been seeing bright colors being worn in A/W fashion shows more and more. At first, I think we were all taken aback by it and thought it was weird, but then, as any Portuguese mom would say ''primeiro estranha-se, depois entranha-se'', which pretty much means ''at first you find it strange but then you get used to it''.

Cold weather has officially arrived and with it also comes the need to wear warmer and cozier garments. I know a lot of people prioritize being cozy and warm during winter instead of focusing on looking on-trend and fashionable, but what if I told you can be stylish AND cozy at the same time?

Yep, that's possible.

And it's actually a lot easier than people think. The key here I would say is layering. Wanna wear that beautiful satin dress to a cocktail party but just the thought of having to walk to the party venue in that causes your body temperature to drop? Layer! Put a big long coat over the dress, maybe even a warm scarf. Once you get to the party, just take those off and show off that amazing dress!

Here are a few ways you can stay cozy yet stylish this winter.
