How To Dress Up Sneakers

Sneakers. Don't we all love them? They are comfortable to walk in, go with a lot our clothing and are made in a variety of styles and colors.

Although sneakers are pretty easy to style, there are certain times where we want to be a bit more dressed up but still feel comfortable. Well, that's where I come in. Today I'll be showing you 10 ways to dress up sneakers.

How to Stick To Your Schedule

There are two types of people in the world: those who set up a super detailed schedule to follow and do it to a T and those who also set up a super detailed schedule but end up doing nothing that's on it and instead choose to focus on completely random things. This post is for those people.

If you're someone who just can't stick to a schedule, no matter how hard you try, your first question is probably 'Why can't I just stick to my schedule?'. Well, it most likely doesn't have anything to do with you personally bu the way you've built your schedule. Maybe you're not a morning person so those huge tasks you've scheduled in the morning should be moved to the afternoon since you're much more likely to just lay in bed than do them. Little changes like that can make a huge difference in your productivity.

Here are a few ways you can stick to your schedule and follow through with the things you set yourself up to do.

SCHEDULE IMPORTANT THINGS FIRST

When creating your schedule, high-priority tasks, or non-negotiables, should be the first things you schedule in. Make sure you schedule them at times where you know you're most likely to do them. Like I mentioned above, if you're not a morning person, for example, don't schedule those tasks early in the morning.

Once those are scheduled in, you can start scheduling the other tasks you'd like to accomplish that week. Keep in mind that you shouldn't schedule things one after the other as it's very likely you'll end up not doing them. Scheduling in breaks and as important as scheduling in actual tasks.

ELIMINATE AS MUCH FRICTION BETWEEN YOU AND A TASK AS POSSIBLE

Let's say you've scheduled in some time to exercise but you never do it. Maybe that's because of lack of motivation- I have a whole blogpost about what to do when you're not feeling motivated- or maybe it's because you start thinking about

all the work that you'll have to put in just to set your space so that you can exercise. This is a fairly easy thing to resolve: have your workout gear somewhere easily accessible, and preferably somewhere you can see it often so that you'll be reminded to workout.

The same goes for non-physical tasks. If you've scheduled in a blogpost writing session, have a little template of all the steps it takes for you to write those posts. That way you will not be stumbling around confused and not knowing where to start and what to do.

Hot pink is one of the major trending colors for this Autumn/Winter season. We normally associate bright colors with spring and summer so having such a vivid color be a trend for A/W can be a bit intimidating. However, it can be pretty easy to incorporate this color into your Autumn/Winter wardrobe, whether you do it by using accessories of pieces of clothing. Here are a few ways you can do so.

What To Do When You're Not Feeling Motivated

Tuesday, September 03, 2019

Motivation is a tricky thing. Sometimes, you get it randomly and want to do anything and everything on your to-do list. Other times, however, no matter what you do, the motivation just isn't there. It's only natural for these kinds of things to happen so don't stress yourself out too much when you just can't seem to do anything.

There are a few things you can do, however, in order to regain a little bit of that motivation back. Let me break them down for you.

DO THINGS YOU HAVE NOT PLANNED BUT THAT WILL MOVE YOU FORWARD

Let's say you've planned to write a blogpost today but you just can't find the motivation and willingness to do it. The best solution is not to just give up and sit on the couch binge-watching a show on Netflix. What you should be doing instead of writing that post is, for example, schedule in tweets, editing photos for your Instagram and other things that are blog-related but that are not writing the blogpost.

TRY DOING THINGS FOR A SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME

When you really need to do something but you really don't feel like it, try setting a timer for  10 or 2 minutes and do as much as you can on that set amount of time. After the timer ends, you might be so into the task that you will want to continue or you might want to stop. Both are completely acceptable so don't feel bad about it.

HAVE A LITTLE SELF-CARE SESSION

Sometimes you're not motivated because you're not feeling your best, so have a bit of a pamper day or just a few hours even.

REWARD YOURSELF

Having something to look forward is motivation in it of itself.  For example, if you say ''Okay, if I finish writing this post in the next hour, I'm going to treat myself to a nice bowl of ice cream.'' you are much more likely to complete that task.

10 Back To School Outfit Ideas

I think I'm pretty late to the game right? I've noticed a lot of people have gone back to school already. Here in Portugal though, school only starts mid-September so that's why I've decided to post-pone this post a little (but also because I don't really want to acknowledge I have to go back to school in less than a month). Anyways, here are a few back to school outfit ideas.

The Beginners Guide To Creating New Habits

The Beginners Guide To Creating New Habits

Creating new habits is something we all find difficult. Although our brains are quite good at creating new habits, they are even better at letting go of old ones. It takes an average of twenty-one days for a person to build a habit but that period is not very easy. Here are my top  four tips on how to create new habits.

Adopt one new habit at a time

The first step to building new habits is to start small. Making small changes and building them up over time. If you have a bunch of habits you want to implement in your life, don't go and try to stick to them all at the same time. Start with one and once that first habit is successfully built, move on to the next one.

Associate a habit you want to start doing with one you really enjoy

Let's say you want to get into the habit of writing 10 pages a day for your dissertation but you just can't seem to do it. My best advice is to associate that habit with one you already have and really enjoy. For example, write those ten pages while listening to a podcast.

If you want to exercise, for example, do it while watching Netflix or, better yet, reward yourself with that Netflix binge after you exercise so you'll have something to look forward to.

The Beginners Guide To Creating New Habits

Have strong why behind your habit

It's more than proven that if you want to get into a certain habit just because you are much more likely to fail than if you were to have a strong reason why you want to build that habit.

Having a strong why behind your habit will motivate you and it's much more likely for you to stick to it.

Adjust your environment to help you stick to better habits

Want to do yoga every morning? Have your yoga mat somewhere visible and easy to reach. Wanna write more? Have a pen and a notebook on your bedside table. These are just small changes you can implement that will keep you accountable and remind you to do that certain thing.

The saying ''out of sight, out of mind'' works perfectly in this situation. If you're not seeing that thing that will help you stick to that certain habit, I can guarantee you you'll forget about it eventually. Whereas if you see that thing every day, you'll be reminded to do that thing.

How to Organize Your Workspace To Be More Productive

How to Organize Your Workspace To Be More Productive

Having a tidy workspace can change the way you work drastically. Having a mess around you will not only distract you from your work but it will also make working a much time-consuming task then it needs to be. As they usually say, a tidy space equals a tidy mind. Here are three tips on how to organize your workspace.

Tidy up your desk after you finish your work

This is a habit you should develop as soon as possible if you want your workspace to be organized all the time. After you finish doing your work, don't just leave everything as it is. Store those papers away, put that pen back in the jar.

How to Organize Your Workspace To Be More Productive

If the surface of your desk looks kinda gross, give it a good old clean. Once you build the habit of cleaning up after yourself, being organized will become much easier.

Have what you need on top of your desk

A desk should be functional, not necessarily pretty. I mean what's the point of having a ton of decorative pieces on top of your desk, those pretty notebooks on display if what you actually use is all stored away in a drawer?

Don't get me wrong, I love decorating my desk: as I'm writing this, my desk has a jar of flowers, 2 BTS albums and a BTS standee on top of it, but those things aren't taking the place of things I use on a regular basis. My point is, don't let decor occupy the place of that planner or those markers you use constantly. Functionality comes first, decor comes second.

Have a home for everything

Having a set place where you store every single thing you own is crucial to have an organized space. That way you'll know exactly where things are when you need them, so you won't need to rummage through all the drawers and cabinets to find them.

Also, I would suggest you keep similar things in the same place. Having a bunch of pens scattered in fifteen different places will pretty much cancel the effect of having a home for everything. Keep those pens all in the same place.

3 Simple Ways To Save More Money

3-simple-ways-to-save-more-money

Saving money. Something all of us want to do but only a few actually can. I get it, it's not easy to just grab half of your paycheck and just chuck it into a savings account. I don't think that is the right way to approach saving money either.  Starting is the hardest part, but with these three tips saving money will - hopefully- become easier.

Keep Track Of Expenses

You can do this either manually or digitally. If you prefer to write things down, I suggest you get yourself a notebook and just jot down every expense you have throughout each month so you can get a better feel on how you are spending your money. You can also get free printable expense trackers on Pinterest.

If you prefer to do things digitally, you can either create a word document and just type down your expenses or create a spreadsheet and organize everything in there. Again, if you're not up to making your own spreadsheet, there are tons available for free, just search on Pinterest.

Save little at a time

Get yourself one of those piggy banks that can only be opened if you break them and every time you get some money, throw a coin or two in there. When starting out, you shouldn't just throw 100 bucks in there and hope for the best. I can guarantee you that you'll break the piggy bank way faster than if you just throw a few bucks at a time.

You can also get yourself a savings account if you're not someone who carries money most of the time. The principle still applies to virtual money.

When in doubt, don't buy it

If you're at some store and you see something you like but you're a bit unsure if you actually want it or you just find it cute, don't buy it. Nine times out of ten you'll end up regretting it. If after a week you're still thinking about that product then I guess you should buy it.
